According to The Food Waste Index Report 2021 by UNEP and Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), it is noted that Kenya throws away an average of 99 kilograms of food every year due to spoilage. To combat the state of hunger in Kenya in alignment with The UN’s sustainability goals and African Union Agenda 2063, modern agricultural practices to increase productivity and production have to be adopted.
